Driving pleasure is 2 doors and rear wheel drive

Talk to most motoring enthusiasts about the perfect configuration for the greatest driving experience and invariably you’ll hear the same thing over and over again – rear wheel drive. Leave the front wheels to handle the steering and let the rear wheels handle the oomph. There are few more pleasing feelings in a car than pushing the accelerator pedal into the carpet of a rear wheel drive car and feeling the back end squirrel slightly before finding grip and launching you along the tarmac. Drop on a sleek two door, lightweight coupe body and you achieve driving perfection.

Ferrari California

Ferrari California

Drawing inspiration from two of their classic models of yesteryear, the late-1950s Ferrari 250 GT Spyder California and the 1960s 365 California, Ferrari launched the California in 2008. Rarely for a Ferrari, the California sports a front-mid mounted engine – the first Ferrari to do so – a 4.3 litre V8 in earlier models and a twin-turbo 3.9 litre V8 in the later release. Coupled with rear wheel drive, the California truly is a grand tourer to be reckoned with.

Lexus LC 500 Coupe

Lexus C500

Based on the 2012 LF-LC Concept, the Lexus LC 500 Coupe was developed over five years with the meticulous nature that has come to be a trademark of the Japanese manufacturer. Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0 litre V8 and rear wheel drive, the LC 500 hits the 100km/h mark from a standstill in a sub-5 second time. Speed is not the only plus point of this coupe. The time spent on design paying dividends, this is a strikingly beautiful, light-weight body.

Definitely a vehicle to be seen in. Click here to take a look.

Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 Coupe

Lamborghini

Lamborghini are renowned for their illustrious history of releasing flamboyant coupes. From the Countach to the Diablo, a Lamborghini coupe has always been a head turner. The Huracan is no different. Seen as the replacement for the Gallardo, the Huracan carries the rear wheel drive flag onwards. The LP580-2 variant houses a mid-mounted 5.2 L V10 engine, producing – you may have guessed from the name – 580 BHP, propelling the vehicle from 0 – 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
